Massachusetts Tennis Falls To Boston College, 6-1

The Minutewomen grabbed the doubles point with wins at courts No. 1 and No. 2.
WEYMOUTH, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis dropped its season opener, 6-1, to Boston College on the road on Friday afternoon.
UMass claimed the doubles point with wins on courts No. 1 and No. 2. After Boston College earned the first point at No. 3, Amelia Tye and Ella Faessler took down Nadia Dimovska and Seren Agar of BC, 6-2, to knot up doubles play at 1-1 apiece. Belle Jonglertrakul and Mariana Campino defeated Boston College's Olivia Benton and Alex Torre, 6-3, to clinch the doubles match for the Minutewomen.
In singles competition, the Eagles swept all six positions. Dimovska of Boston College grabbed the first point at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Owethu Makhanya, before BC's Benton won 6-3, 6-0 over Tye at No. 2 singles. Nadia Barteck of Boston College made it a 3-1 in favor of the Eagles after defeating Faessler, 6-4, 6-4 at court No. 3. At the No. 4 slot, Boston College's Tola Glowacka downed Trinity Calinescu 6-4, 6-2, while Natalie Eordekian of BC defeated Jonglertrakul, 6-4, 7-5, at court No. 1. Torre picked up the final point of the match for Boston College with a 7-6(3), 7-5 win over Martina Pavissich at the No. 5 slot.
