CLEARWATER, Fla. - Michelle Libby's two-run single in the sixth inning erased a one-run deficit and gave No. 24 UMass softball the lead as it went on to defeat USF, 6-5, in a back and forth contest on day two of the USF Under Armour Invitational at Eddie C. Moore Complex on Saturday afternoon. The win made the Minutewomen 4-0 on the weekend and 10-4 overall heading into Sunday's 9 a.m. game against Robert Morris.

Sarah Reeves hit a three-run home run, her third of the season, while Kyllie Magill, Jessica Serio, and Carly Normandin all had two-hit games.

Sara Plourde went the distance in the circle, striking out 14, while allowing three earned runs on seven hits and improving to 8-2 on the season.

Brittany Bowles, the second of three USF pitchers used in the game, took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits in 3 2/3 innings.

The Bulls took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on two unearned runs. After a one-out error, Alison Savarese doubled in a run and later scored on a single by JoJo Medina.

The Minutewomen had their big run in the third. Infield singles by Magill and Katie Bettencourt put two on with two outs for Reeves, who drove a lined shot off the top of the left field fence and over for the 22nd home run of the senior's career. After a walk to Serio, Reeves scored the fourth run of the inning on Meghan Carta's double off the fence in left, making it 4-2.

After USF got a run back in the fourth on a RBI triple by Cat Olnick, the Bulls took the lead in the fifth inning on a two-run home run by Savarese, 5-4.

A one-out error and a fielder's choice put two on Michelle Libby in the top of the sixth inning. The senior singled up the middle, bringing in Whitney Williams with the tying run and Magill with the go-ahead run, giving UMass a 6-5 lead.

After issuing a walk to start the bottom of the seventh, Plourde retired the next three batters, finishing the game with her 14th K.
