Women’s Cross Country Posts Season-Opening Win At Ken O’Brien Minuteman Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's cross country captured nine of the top-11 spots to collect a team victory at its own Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational on Saturday. The Minutewomen posted a score of 17, followed by Stonehill (53) and New Haven (115).
THE UMASS TOP-FIVE
- Junior Rylee Shunney led UMass for the first time in her career, completing the 4K course in 13:28.21, over 30 seconds ahead of her teammate sophomore Agnes Thundal who finished second out of 36 competitors in 13:58.88.
- Junior Lara Mannes Diaz de Cerio completed the 1-2-3 sweep for the Minutewomen as she collected third overall at 14:00.11.
- Junior Rylee Davis scored for the second time in her career, claiming fifth overall and fourth for the Minutewomen, clocking in at 14:04.79.
- Junior Ella Bosselman rounded out the UMass top-five in sixth overall (14:07.52).

- The Minutewomen will be idle until Saturday, September 20, when the squad travels to Hanover, New Hampshire for the Maribel Sanchez Souther Memorial Invitational at Dartmouth. Race time is set for 10 a.m.
