Welcome Back
- The Minutewomen return 14 individuals who were members of the 2024 squad, including 2024 Atlantic 10 All-Conference performer Sydney Adams as well as Lara Mannes Diaz de Cerio and Annika Zuschlag who scored at last year's A-10 Championships, helping UMass to its best team finish at the meet (second) since 2000.
- In addition to Adams (Sr.), Mannes Diaz de Cerio (Jr.) and Zuschlag (Sr.), UMass also returns juniors Ella Bosselman, Rylee Davis, Simone Harrison, Rylee Shunney and Anna Todd and sophomores Kaylie Dalgar, Leann Lombardi, Anna McElhinney, Anna Shaw, Agnes Thundal and Maia Zatorska.
Import From Across The Pond
- The lone freshman on this year's squad is Lilia Harris who comes to UMass from Sheffield, England.
- Harris attended Wales, High School and was second at the National Track Championships in the 1500m in 2021 (U15) and 2022 (U17). She claimed third at National U17 XC Championships in 2022 and was an England selection for XC in 2023. In the 800m, she took third at the Northern England Championships in the 800m in 2024 and 2025.
Roster Breakdown
- The UMass roster features two seniors, six juniors, six sophomores and one freshmen.
- Five Minutewomen are Massachusetts natives, with two hailing from New Jersey and one each from the following states: Idaho, New York, Rhode Island and Illinois.
- The Roster features four internationals: two from England, one from Poland and one from Sweden.
Mark Your Calendars
- After the season-opening Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational, on September 20, the squad will travel to Dartmouth for the Maribel Sanchez Souther Memorial Invitational for the first time, their lone competition date for the month of September.
- The Minutewomen will then kick off October at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa., on Friday October 3. One week later, on October 10, the group will travel to the New England Championships in Hopkinton, N.H. at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.
- On Friday, October 17, Minutewomen will go to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y., for the ECAC Championships and will wrap up the month with a trip to Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn., for the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, October 24.
- November opens with UMass' debut at the MAC Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. on Saturday, November 1.
0 The team will then travel to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Friday, November 14, in Hopkinton, N.H. at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.
Ready For MACtion
- UMass will be the 13th member of the Mid-American Conference in women's cross country, joining Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan.
- Toledo won the 2024 MAC title with 32 points, followed by Ohio (82) and Eastern Michigan (92). The Toledo squad earned a spot in the NCAA Championship for the second time in the past three years after taking third at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
- The MAC names an All-MAC First Team and Second Team at the conference championship meet with seven individuals earning spots on each squad.
