Tennis Hosts Bryant, Travels To Fordham

The Minutewomen welcome the Bulldogs for Senior Day on Friday, before heading to the Bronx on Sunday to face the Rams.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis welcomes Bryant for Senior Day on Friday, April 4, for a 2 p.m. match at the Mullins Tennis Courts, before traveling to Bronx, New York, on Sunday, April 6, to take on Fordham for a 10:30 a.m.
Mariana Campino and Belle Jonglertrakul will be honored in a senior ceremony prior to the start of Friday's match.
Last Time Out
The Minutewomen improved to 8-6 overall and 3-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, after sweeping Davidson, 4-0, on Sunday morning.
Massachusetts quickly clinched the doubles point with victories on courts No. 1 and 3. Campino and Jonglertakul defeated their opponent, 6-0 at No. 1, before Owethu Makhanya and Martina Pavissich secured the pint with a 6-2 win at No. 3.
In singles competition, Amelia Tye grabbed the first point with a 64-, 6-2 victory at court No. 4, before Campino claimed a straight set win at No. 1 singles in a 6-4, 6-1 match. Ella Faessler clinched the match with a three-set win, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, at court No. 2.
Scouting Bryant
The Bryant Bulldogs sit at 10-5 overall on the year and are currently on a three-match win streak. The Bulldogs last defeated Rhode Island, 4-3, on Tuesday, after winning 6-1 over Sacred Heart and 7-0 over Winona State prior.
Scouting Fordham
Fordham holds an 11-4 overall and a 5-0 league record. The Rams are on a three-match win streak, most recently, downing St. John's, 4-0 on Saturday. In league competition, Fordham has defeated Davidson (4-3), George Mason (4-0), George Washington (4-0), Richmond (4-1) and VCU (4-2).
The Rams will make a stop at Rhode Island on Saturday, prior to Sunday's match with Massachusetts.
Weekly Honors
Faessler collected the first Atlantic 10 weekly award of the year for the Minutewomen on February 4. The junior tabbed the A-10 Player of the Week accolade, which marked the first weekly honor of her career. On the week, Faessler went 2-0 in singles competition and 1-0 in doubles play.
