AMHERST, MASS. -- Massachusetts (7-21, 3-2 A-10) dropped two games to UAlbany (11-6) in doubleheader action on Wednesday afternoon at Sortino Field.
The Great Danes claimed a 3-0 victory, in what was mostly a pitchers dual to start the day. Freshman Hannah Streicher earned her third start in the circle, pitching 3.0 innings before giving way to Natalee Horton in relief. In her 15th appearance in the circle, Horton allowed just one earned run while striking out two batters. Senior Jordyn Graime started her eighth game of the season, recording her first hit of the 2024 campaign.
Game two provided much more offensive action but UAlbany was able to stay a step ahead, earning a 10-5 victory to close the doubleheader. Senior Bella Pantoja led the Minutewomen at the plate, powering a three RBI double into the left center gap in the bottom of the seventh inning. Senior Jenna Bradley earned her fourth start in the circle pitching two innings before Julianne Bolton came on in relief duty. The Minutewomen flashed a balanced attack at the plate as seven different players earned a hit in the second game of the day.
