Minutewomen Drop Two On Day One Of Gamecock Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Massachusetts (3-9) fell in the first two games of the Gamecock Invitational to South Alabama (9-2) and South Carolina (10-2) on Friday at Carolina Softball Stadium.
Massachusetts opened day one in Columbia against South Alabama, falling 8-0 in the morning matchup. The Minutewomen then faced off with tournament host South Carolina in a game that was delayed over two hours due to inclement weather. UMass completed two innings before the delay, after resuming play at 7 p.m. the Minutewomen fell 9-0 late in the evening.

- 1: Massachusetts played it's first game against a ranked opponent this season, facing No. 17 South Carolina
