Colby Hall was promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Performance, Health and Wellness in June of 2024 after serving as the Associate Athletic Director of Academic Success since August, 2022. Hall is the sport administrator for the field hockey, men's basketball and women's lacrosse programs.
Before being named the Associate Athletic Director of Academic Success, Hall spent a year as the Associate Director of Learning Enhancement. She first joined the UMass Academic Success staff in the Fall of 2017 as an Academic Counselor and Tutorial Coordinator, prior to being an Assistant Director of Academic Success for Learning Enhancement. Hall was the academic counselor for the men’s basketball and football teams.
As an Associate Director, Hall oversaw the Learning Enhancement Programing, supervising two full time learning specialists, student mentors and subject specific tutors. She monitored student-athletes’ NCAA eligibility and graduation requirements, while also tracking the Academic Progress Rate of both programs.
In her Assistant Director role, Hall served as the academic counselor for football (juniors) and women's track & field and was a learning specialist for men's and women's basketball and football. She hired, trained and scheduled academic mentors, subject specific tutors and objective based study hall interns. Hall collaborated with academic counselors to design and implement academic success plans and base-line testing for student-athletes, while creating coaches and sport program administrator education series about learning strategies and risk factors of incoming recruits.
During her first two years at UMass as an Academic Counselor and Tutorial Coordinator, Hall counseled the men's and women's track & field programs. She had oversight of the tutoring program for athletics, which consisted of over sixty tutors each semester. In conjunction with managing the tutoring program, Hall worked with the entire student-athlete population on scheduling and pairing student-athletes with subject-specific tutors.
Prior to her role at UMass, Hall interned at Liberty University working primarily with football and student-athlete development.
A native of Bellingham, Massachusetts, Hall earned her bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in sport management in 2016, and completed her Masters of Sports Management at Southern New Hampshire University. She is also a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) and serves as the head cheerleading coach and spirit coordinator at UMass.
