July 11, 2025 | Men's Basketball
AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts basketball program will challenge 13 teams as part of its 2025-26 non-conference slate, Head Coach Frank Martin announced Friday. Â
 Â
Massachusetts will face five programs from the New England region, including its first matchup against Boston College since Nov. 16, 2014. The Minutemen will also compete in a trio of high-profile neutral site events including a three-game slate at the 2025 Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Â
Â
The Minutemen will kick off their 126th competitive season and first as a member of the Mid-American Conference on Monday, Nov. 3, as they host game one of the MAC-SBC Challenge against Marshall. UMass will complete the two-game series on the road, traveling to a Sun Belt opponent to be named later on Saturday, Feb. 7. The matchup will be determined using NET data and will be announced at a later date.
Â
Massachusetts hosts a trio of regional foes in November, taking on Albany (Nov. 8), Le Moyne (Nov. 13) and Central Connecticut (Nov. 16) to wrap up a four-game homestand to open the season. Â
 Â
UMass will hit the road for the first time in 2025 when it travels to the island of St. Thomas as part of the Paradise Jam. Massachusetts will open the neutral site tournament against Charleston on Friday, Nov. 21 before facing either Green Bay or Yale in the subsequent matchup. The Minutemen will close their time in U.S. Virgin Islands on Monday, Nov. 24 against an opponent to be determined. Akron, Evansville, Iona and Oregon State round out the rest of the 2025 field. Â
Â
The Minutemen will once again take part in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, facing Boston College on Wednesday, December 10, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The matchup marks the fifth consecutive season Massachusetts has competed in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Classic and fourth straight season the event has been held in Springfield. Â
Â
Massachusetts will complete its neutral site matchups at the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic by facing Florida State on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida. Â
The maroon and white will also host Harvard (Dec. 3), UMass Lowell (Dec. 6) and UMass Boston (Dec. 22) in the Mullins Center. Â
