Massachusetts Women’s Track and Field Continues Outdoor Season at Ken O'Brien Pre-Conference Qualifier

AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team had a stellar weekend at the Ken O'Brien Pre-Conference Qualifier meet in Amherst, Mass.
Highlights from Competition:
Massachusetts returns to action next weekend to compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in Fairfax, Va. on May 3-4.
Highlights from Competition:
- Sadai Headley-Mawasi, Jana DeRaedt, Alysia Spencer and Faith Richardson combined to run a 46.50 in the women's 4x100m relay, good enough for gold.
- Rylee Shunney claimed gold in the women's 1500m run, crossing the finish line in 4:25.67. Alex Costantino finished shortly behind, securing silver in 4:26.30. Agnes Thundal's time of 4:30.46 was good enough for fourth, and Lara Mannes Diaz de Cerio placed ninth with a time of 4:34.43.
- Half of the top-10 fastest times in the women's 400m dash belonged to Minutewomen, with Sadai Headley-Mawasi (1st) pacing the team with a time of 54.08. Ali Murphy earned bronze with a time of 56.00, with Leila Metres (5th), Caroline Mullady (6th) and Diamani Canuto (10th) finishing in 56.90, 57.26 and 59.01, respectively.
- Faith Richardson claimed bronze in the women's 100m dash, crossing the finish line in 12.04. Jana DeRaedt (6th) and Alysia Spencer (7th) placed back-to-back with times of 12.14 and 12.19, respectively.
- Jennifer Williams earned silver in the women's 100m hurdles, crossing in 14.30. Katelyn Gorgenyi (4th) and Tesaira Williams (5th) placed consecutively in 14.38 and 14.56, respectively, with Megan Frazee claiming ninth in 14.85.
- Simone Harrison placed fourth in the women's 800m run with a time of 2:14.88.
- Alexandria Scott claimed gold in the women's 400m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 1:00.16.
- The duo of Alysia Spencer (4th) and Jana DeRaedt (5th) placed back-to-back in the women's 200m dash, finishing with times of 25.10 and 25.11, respectively.
- Erin Shipos took fourth in the women's 3K steeplechase, running in 11:47.77.
- Sadai Headley-Mawasi, Caroline Mullady, Ali Murphy and Lillian Kirry combined to run a 3:51.71 in the women's 4x400m relay, taking gold.
- Aaliyah Alleyne claimed silver in the women's javelin with a toss of 127'0". Elizabeth Hopkins took sixth with a throw of 111'3".
- Bridget Lee rounded out the top-five in the women's long jump with a distance of 19'7.75. The duo of Grace Hanafin (7th) and Shakira Cadet (8th) rounded out the top-8 with leaps of 18'7.50" and 18'6.75, respectively.
- The trio of Chloe Taylor (1st), Megan Frazee (2nd) and Maia Perillo (3rd) swept the podium of the women's pole vault, clearing bars of 12'10", 12'4" and 11'4.25", respectively. Emilie Bell cracked into the top-10, placing ninth with a clear of 10'4.50".
- Shakira Cadet claimed silver in the women's triple jump, hop-skip-jumping a 37'6". Gabrielle Bilong rounded out the top-five with a leap of 37'1.75, with Bridget Lee (7th) and Ashley Camilo (8th) cracking the top-eight with jumps of 35'2.75" and 34'3.75".
- Tess Rancourt (3rd), Mattie Bishop (4th), Natalie Krysta (5th) and Eve Segal (6th) finished consecutively in the women's shot put with tosses of 42'8.25", 42'5", 42'3.75" and 42'0.25", respectively.
- Natalie Krysta took bronze in the women's discus with a throw of 143'1". Mattie Bishop earned fourth with a throw of 133'2".
- Ainsley Wiesner claimed silver in the women's hammer with a throw of 176'10". Jaliyah Burns rounded out the top-five with a toss of 155'9".
Massachusetts returns to action next weekend to compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in Fairfax, Va. on May 3-4.
