Massachusetts Tennis Seeded Second In A-10 Championships

The Minutewomen receive a bye to the Quarterfinal Round on Friday.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis locked in the No. 2-seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Championships, the league announced Monday afternoon. The Minutewomen will begin their tournament action on Friday, April 25, at 11:30 a.m., after earning a bye in the Quarterfinal Round.

The entire championship will be played at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, from Thursday, April 24 through Sunday, April 27. UMass earns the second seed in the tournament for the ninth time in program history and the second time with head coach Juancarlos Nunez at the helm.

UMass will take on the winner of No. 7 Davidson/ No. 10 Saint Joseph's match.

Massachusetts concluded the regular season with an 11-6 overall record and an unblemished 4-0 mark in the A-10 Conference. UMass went on a  four-match win streak to finish out the year.

UMass last competed in the A-10 Championship last season as the No. 3 seed. The Minutewomen earned its first A-10 Tournament Title since the 2016-17 time and for the third time in program history, after defeating No. 8 Richmond, 4-2.
