Minutewomen Score Nine Unanswered En Route To Dominant 17-7 Over Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Massachusetts women's lacrosse (10-3, 8-0 A-10) continued to dominate in Atlantic 10 play, claiming a wire to wire 17-7 win over Davidson (10-4, 6-2) on Saturday afternoon at Davidson College Stadium. With the victory the Minutewomen clinched their 16th consecutive 10-win season and 53rd straight A-10 win.
The Minutewomen have now scored 15 or more goals in 10 of their last 11 games dating back to Wednesday, February 19. Four different Minutewomen scored a hat trick on the afternoon as Ava Connaughton, Kassidy Morris, Tessa Shields and Lauren Tolve each reached the mark. The performances mark the second straight matchup in which four different Minutewomen recorded three or more goals.
Connuaghton and Shields paced the Minutewomen offensively, each recording seven points on four goals and three assists. Shields added a pair of ground balls and caused a turnover on the day.
Kassidy Morris tallied five points on four goals and an assist, claiming her her tenth consecutive game with four or more goals. Lauren Tolve recorded three goals while adding three draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers.
Jordan Dean continued to dominate in draw controls, claiming 13 to go along with a ground ball and caused turnover. Bridget Valentine led the effort defensively, totaling four ground balls and two caused turnovers on the day.
The Wildcats were led by Josie Lambert who recorded four points on three goals and one assist.
