Massachusetts Men's Track & Field Finish Third At Atlantic 10 Championships

Godot Gaskins was named Men's Most Outstanding Track Performer after winning three medals
FAIRFAX, Va.- The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team claimed third place in the Atlantic 10 Championships on Sunday. The Minutemen finished with 98 points while Rhode Island was crowned champions for the fourth year in a row. Godot Gaskins was named Men's Most Outstanding Performer after winning three medals on the day.
Highlights from competition:
- The men's 4x100m relay team consisting of Ethan Clark, Michael Rodia, Winston Lewis, and Godot Gaskins set a new school record with a time of 40.75. The time also earned them bronze and was the first medal of the day for UMass.
- Gaskins would continue to have success on the final day of competition, winning silver in both the 200m and 400m. His 200m time of 21.34 was the fifth fastest time in program history while his 400m time of 46.95 was his fastest of the season.
- Two Minutemen had podium finishes in the decathlon as Greg Desrosiers Jr. claimed silver and Elijah Wolinski won bronze. Desrosiers Jr. and Wolinski finished with scores of 6415 and 6186 respectively.Â
- John Ferrarelli also earned points in the decathlon with a seventh place finish.
- Robert Carew earned his second medal in just as many days as the senior ran a personal best time of 14:16.92 to claim bronze in the 5000m.
- Ethan Clark crossed the line in 10.68 seconds to earn fourth in the 100m.
- Joachim Ennoo jumped 48' 10.75" to place fourth in the triple jump. The jump is the third best mark in program history.
- Alec Pascoe finished fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.72.
- The 4x400m relay team consisting of Winston Lewis, Sean McKay, Alec Pascoe, and Godot Gaskins rounded out the scoring for the Minutemen as the squad took seventh with a time of 3:17.18.
The Minutemen will be back in action next weekend as they take on the NEICAAA Championships hosted by Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.
