Duo to be recognized Wednesday at the UMass Sports Luncheon.

AMHERST, Mass. – Andrew Bell of men's swimming and diving and Joseph Duggan of men's track and field were tabbed as the UMassFive Student-Athletes of the Week, as announced on Tuesday. The duo will be honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon on Wednesday at the Berkshire Dining Commons.

Bell finished 20th in the three-meter event at the NCAA Swim & Dive Championships, marking the highest finish for a UMass men's diver in program history. Additionally, Bell's place in the three-meter dive is the highest finish for either the men's or women's team since Emma Roush placed 15th in the one-meter dive in 2017. In the three-meter dive on Friday, the South Windsor, Connecticut, native recorded a six-dive total of 350.70 in the event trials. During Thursday's one-meter diving trials, the Atlantic 10 Men's Diver of the Year scored a 280.80 to earn 42nd on the day.

Duggan won the Discus at the Black and Gold Invitational on Saturday. His toss of 166' 8" was 16' 1" farther than the second-place throw.
