Massachusetts Tennis Opens 2023 Slate At Boston College

The Minutewomen match up with the Eagles on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 5 p.m.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis will open its Spring 2023 with a trip to Weymouth, Mass., to take on Boston College on Saturday, January 28, at 5 p.m.
UMass finished the regular season last year with a 15-4 overall record and a perfect 7-0 mark in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Massachusetts also concluded its home schedule with an 8-0 record, while going undefeated in the months of February and March. The Minutewomen earned the No. 2 seed in the A-10 Tournament, competing in the semifinals round.
Renata Farima garnered A-10 Most Outstanding Rookie of the Year after claiming seven A-10 weekly honors, including Rookie of the Week six times and A-10 Performer of the Week once. Farima tabbed the league's All-Conference First Team, while Danielle Hack and Mariya Krasakova earned placement on the All-Conference Second Team.
The Minutewomen return seven members of the 2021-22 team, including graduate students Dylan Cannon and Anna Napadiy, senior Polina Akimova, juniors Hack and Krasakova, and sophomores Farima and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul. The Maroon and White added one new member in freshman Melisa Senli.
Scouting Boston College
The Eagles are 2-1 heading into Saturday's match up. Boston College began the season against Army on Jan. 21, winning 6-1, before falling, 4-3, to Harvard on Jan. 22. BC defeated Brown, 4-3, on Tuesday.
Boston College will play UConn on Friday (Jan. 27) prior to competing with UMass the following day.
