A-10 Play Continues at Saint Louis

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts softball (13-16, 2-1 A-10) travels to Saint Louis for a three-game series, April 8-9, at Saint Louis (14-16, 3-5 A-10). Game times are set for Saturday at 12 p.m. CT/1 p.m. ET and 2 p.m. CT/3 p.m. ET with the finale at 12 p.m. CT/1 p.m. ET Sunday.
A Look Back
The Minutewomen hosted Fairleigh Dickinson in a doubleheader against Fairleigh Dickinson, Wed., April 5, at Sortino Field. UMass fell 4-3 in the first game but bested FDU, 5-1, in game two. Junior Meg Colleran earned the win for the Minutewomen, giving up just four hits and striking out eight batters.
Atlantic 10 Roundup
As a squad, Massachusetts ranks No. 3 in the league with five triples and No. 3 with 38 successful stolen bases. Freshman Candace Denis' .181 opposing batting average and 1.98 ERA rank No. 1 and No. 3 in the Atlantic 10, respectively.
The Billikens
Saint Louis sits at 14-16 overall with 3-5 A-10 record after dropping a three-game series against Rhode Island April 1-2. In the circle, junior Maddie Baalman paces the squad with a 2.70 ERA, pitching 90.2 innings and striking out 65 batters. Junior Allie MacFarlane leads Saint Louis' offense with a .366 batting average, picking up 34 hits, 31 RBI, seven homeruns and 18 runs scored.

Denis paces the Minutewomen with 85.0 innings pitched and 10 complete games. Her ERA of 1.98 places third in the Atlantic 10 in 13 appearances with 12 games started, and Denis ranks No. 1 with an opposing batting average of .181. Junior Meg Colleran has started 14 games for a total of 83.2 innings pitched and a 3.35 ERA.
Sophomore Studs
Sophomores Kaycee Carbone, Kaitlyn Stavinoha and Erin Stacevicz are off to a strong start for the Minutewomen. Stavinoha leads the team with a .367 batting average, 25 RBI and one home run. She has accumulated eight multi-hit games and leads the team with five multi-RBI games.
Carbone leads the team with her seven-straight on-base game streak, and she also maintained a five-game hitting streak this season. She's No. 4 on the squad with a batting average of .262 and leads the team with two homeruns.
Stacevicz's .343 batting average is good for No. 2 on the team with 35 hits and 22 runs scored. She leads the team with nine multi-hit games and put together a nine-game hitting streak to open the season (Feb. 17-March 4).
