Four Student-Athletes Earn UMassFive Student-Athletes of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. – Four standout student-athletes have been named the UMassFive Student-Athletes of the Week for their record-setting and championship-winning performances: Kassidy Morris (women's lacrosse), Sadai Headley-Mawasi (women's track and field), Megan Frazee (women's track and field), and Michael Norberg (men's track and field). The four will be honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon on Wednesday, May 7th, at noon in the Berkshire Room of the Berkshire Dining Commons.
Redshirt junior Kassidy Morris earned Atlantic 10 Championship Most Outstanding Player honors after leading the Minutewomen lacrosse team with nine points—seven goals and two assists—across the tournament. The Washago, Ontario native was also named to the All-Championship Team, highlighted by a dominant semifinal performance in which she tallied five goals and two assists in a 16–11 win over Richmond.
On the track, senior Sadai Headley-Mawasi played a pivotal role in securing the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship for the women's team. The Peabody, Massachusetts native captured gold in the 400-meter dash and silver in the 4x400-meter relay, while also placing in the top eight in the 200-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay. Along the way, she set new program records in both the 4x400m and 200m events.
Junior Megan Frazee also made her mark at the A-10 Championships, winning gold in the pole vault with a record-setting performance. The Westford, Massachusetts native cleared a new program-best height to help the Minutewomen clinch the conference title.
On the men's side, graduate student Michael Norberg took home gold in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and set a new program record in the event. The Norfolk, Massachusetts native's impressive showing added to a strong weekend for the Minutemen at the A-10 Championships.
