AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass Student-Athlete Advisory committee is proud to announce the 2011 toy drive commencing on Nov. 17 at the men's basketball game against NJIT. UMass student-athletes and the community have contributed hundreds of toys over the past several years, and are hoping for another good effort this year.
In addition to Nov. 17, members of the UMass community will have an opportunity to donate toys on Nov. 18 when the Mass Attack faces Maine , Nov. 30 when Derek Kellogg's squad tips off against Towson at, and finally on Dec. 2 when hockey collides with Harvard. All four games begin at 7 p.m. at the Mullins Center.
The donations will be used to benefit the patients at the Shriners Children's Hospital in Springfield, Mass. Toys without latex or foam are preferable due to allergy concerns.
