AMHERST, Mass. - UMass senior women's basketball player Alisha Tatham was selected to take part in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association to take part in its "So You Want To Be A Coach" program at the women's Final Four in Tampa over the weekend. The program consists of workshops that allow the former players to meet and learn from high-level professionals, attend WBCA functions, and attend open practices. Tatham, a two-year captain, finished her UMass career in March, totaling 116 games played and 524 points.

The purpose of the Nike's So You Want To Be A Coach workshop is to provide an educational and professional foundation for minority female basketball players in order to better prepare them for entering the coaching profession. Nike's So You Want To Be A Coach workshop is two and a half days of superior programming. The goal is to increase the number of minority female basketball players who aspire to coach. The coaching lessons shared with these participants will assist in identifying, recruiting, and retaining minority women in the profession of coaching.
