PHILADELPHIA, PA - With spring right around the corner, the coaches of the Atlantic 10 have made their predictions for the nine spring sports. UMass was selected to finish first in both softball and women's rowing.

After a strong 37-16-1 overall record and 13-3 in the A-10, the UMass softball team hopes to make this prediction a reality as do the women rowers who finished first in 2005.

The baseball team, following their 16-33 overall record (9-15 in the A-10), was picked to finish tenth.

In outdoor track, the men were picked to follow up their 2005 sixth place finish with an eighth place finish. The women were selected to finish ninth after finishing seventh in 2005.

The women's lacrosse team (5-12 overall/1-6 A-10 in 2005) were selected to finish sixth in 2006.

The women's tennis team was selected to finish second in 2006 after finishing second in 2005.

In their first season in the Atlantic 10, Charlotte received the most first place predictions with four (baseball, men's & women's outdoor track and men's tennis).
