Minutewomen Stumble in Storrs

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts softball (19-18, 8-1 A-10) fell to Connecticut (15-22, 1-7 ACC), 7-1 on Tuesday. The Minutewomen will face Boston College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Freshman Candace Denis started on the mound and pitched a four innings, giving up six hits, six runs and striking out two. She was relieved by freshman Quinn Breidenbach who pitched two innings, giving up one run.
The Minutewomen picked up seven hits and one run over seven innings. Senior Tara Klee went one-for-two with a double. Senior Jena Cozza, the designated hitter, went two-for-four picking up an RBI. Denis and sophomores Kaitlyn Stavinoha and Erin Stacevicz also picked up hits for the Minutewomen.
