AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts softball (17-17, 6-2 Atlantic 10) will host Fordham (31-10, 7-2 A-10) in a three-game series, April 14-15, in Amherst. Game times are set for Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
 
A Look Back
UMass traveled to URI for a conference doubleheader on Wednesday, April 12. The Minutewomen bested the Rams in both games, 9-5 (9) and 5-3, respectively. Junior Meg Colleran picked up her ninth win of the season in game one, pitching nine innings and striking out five batters. Freshman Candace Denis secured the win in game two, her seventh of the season, striking out eight Rams.
 
Atlantic 10 Roundup
As a squad, Massachusetts sits at second in the Atlantic 10 standings. The Minutewomen rank No. 2 in team pitching with a 2.95 ERA and in opposing batting average with a .230. The squad ranks No. 3 in the league in stolen bases with 49 as Denis leads the team with 20.
 
The Rams
Fordham leads the Atlantic 10 at 31-10 overall and a 7-2 conference record after splitting a doubleheader at Lehigh on Wednesday, April 12. Senior Lauren Quense paces the squad's pitching with a 1.83 ERA, throwing 138.0 innings and striking out 89 batters. Sophomore Jessica Hughes leads the Rams' offense with a .409 batting average, picking up 47 hits, 30 RBI, eight homeruns and 41 runs scored.
 
In The Circle
Colleran (9-9) and Denis (7-6) are splitting a majority of the starts for UMass. Colleran has an ERA of 2.99 in 17 starts and 12 complete games (107.2 total innings). Denis has an ERA of 2.09 in 14 starts and 11 complete games (97.0 total innings).
 
Sophomore Studs
Kaitlyn Stavinoha leads the team with a .345 batting average, 28 RBI and one home run. Sophomore Kaycee Carbone sits at No. 4 on the squad with a batting average of .278, 27 hits and leads the team with two homeruns. Sophomore Erin Stacevicz's .339 batting average is good for No. 2 on the team with 41 hits and 27 runs scored.
