May 17, 2017 | Football
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts Director of Athletics Ryan Bamford announced three games for the 2018 and 2019 football schedules on Wednesday.
In 2018, Duquesne University will play at UMass on August 25. Scheduled for week zero due to Duquesne's game at Hawai'i in 2018, the Dukes and the Minutemen will play for the first time ever.
For 2019, Big Ten teams Rutgers and Northwestern have been added to the slate. Massachusetts will play at Piscataway, N.J. on August 31 and at Evanston, Illinois on November 16.
The Minutemen and the Scarlet Knights have played four times previously (1967, 1973, 1976, 1978), splitting the victories with two each. The 2019 schedule will mark the first-ever meeting between the Minutemen and the Wildcats.
2017 season ticket sales are underway. An adult season ticket is available for $140 and includes five games at McGuirk Alumni Stadium and Maine vs. UMass at Fenway Park. A season ticket for faculty/staff, youth and young alumni is available for $130 with the same benefits. Single-game tickets for five games in Amherst go on sale July 12 with new gameday info available.
