Redshirt senior kicker led UMass to 30-27 double-overtime win with game-tying and winning field goals
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - University of Massachusetts football kicker Logan Laurent earned a New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Award on Wed., Nov. 1 following Laurent's double-overtime heroics against Appalachian State. Laurent sealed the 30-27 victory in double-overtime when he drove a 36-yard field goal through the North endzone upright at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
Laurent's overtime field goal came only minutes after he tied the game on a 45-yard conversion through the same upright with five seconds to go in the fourth quarter.
