Student Buses Added for #BattleoftheBayState
September 07, 2016 | Football
AMHERST, Mass. - In response to the high level of demand for transit to Gillette Stadium for Saturday's #BattleoftheBayState, four additional students buses have been made available to transport students roundtrip from Amherst to Gillette Stadium. The trip and ticket for the four additional buses are free of charge. Unlike the Minuteman Express, which sold out in record time earlier this week, these buses will not include any of the additional benefits which Minuteman Express riders receive (i.e. t-shirt, food voucher).
Exactly 221 tickets, and accompanying bus trip vouchers, will be available at the Mullins Center Ticket Office at 3 p.m. Friday (Sept. 9) and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are encouraged to arrive at the Mullins Center Ticket Office as early as their schedule permits to enter the queue in order to improve their chance at receiving a spot on the bus.
- Tickets will be distributed on a 1-to-1 ratio with the presentation of a UCard by UMass Amherst students. In order to receive a ticket, a student must be present (no picking up tickets for friends who aren't there).
- Students who wish to attend together are encouraged to be in line together on Friday afternoon.
- Buses will depart from Haigis Mall at 9 a.m. on Saturday, and will depart Gillette Stadium exactly 30 minutes following the ending of the game.
- As students board the bus on Saturday morning, they must present:
Their bus ride ticket
Their game ticket
- Upon entering the bus, students will receive a wristband which must be worn at all times until returning to campus later in the evening.
- Students will board buses for return to campus following the game in the same location where they are dropped off pregame.
- There is not cost for this offering and students are encouraged to wear UMass apparel to the game.
- A UMass staff member (TBD) will be on each of the four additional busses to collect tickets, distribute wristbands and attend the game.
