Six-Game Broadcast Package Set For 2016 Football Schedule

Announced by University of Massachusetts Athletics on Friday, in conjunction with its multimedia rights holder, Learfield's UMass Sports Properties, a national television and digital distribution plan is in place for all six 2016 football home games, via a partnership with American Sports Network (ASN).
 
All six UMass home games will be distributed by ASN and will be carried locally on New England Sports Network (NESN), in addition to availability on the ESPN3 platform and the WatchESPN app. Eric Frede and Andy Gresh will call the Boston College, Mississippi State, Tulane and Louisiana Tech. Commentators for the FIU and Wagner games will be announced at a later date.
 
UMass' game vs. Wagner on Oct. 29, honoring Hometown Heroes and Senior Day, has been moved to a 12 p.m. start time at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.

ASN clearances and local listings for each game will be announced and promoted on a week-by-week basis. ASN carries a strong distribution footprint with approx. 38 million households for the 12 p.m. ET window and approx. 70 million households for the 3:30 p.m. ET window. In addition to NESN, ASN partners include major regional sports networks such as Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, Altitude, Cox Sports, as well as broadcast stations in major markets across the U.S.
 
Massachusetts football opens the 2016 season at Florida on Sat., Sept. 3. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network, UMass' first of at least seven nationally-televised contests.
 
Season tickets are on sale and available in three packages – Massachusetts plan (six games), Gillette mini plan (three games) and McGuirk mini plan (three games) – starting as low as $120 for six games.
 
New for the 2016 season, Young Alumni (2012-16 graduates) can purchase lower level season tickets for only $99, including all Season Ticket Holder benefits (ticket holder lanyard, priority access to Gillette Stadium concert tickets, a personal service representative, access to discounted additional single game tickets and preferred parking, just to name a few). The Young Alumni Season Ticket is only available by calling 1-866-UMASS-TIX.
 
Tickets for UMass' six 2016 road games are also on sale. The Minutemen travel to play at Florida (Sept. 3, 7:30 p.m.), Old Dominion (Oct. 8, 6 p.m.), South Carolina (Oct. 22, TBA), Troy (Nov. 5, TBA), BYU (Nov. 19, TBA) and Hawai'i (Nov. 26, 6 p.m. HT/11 p.m. ET).
 
Ticket pricing is as follows: Florida ($75), ODU ($31), South Carolina ($60), Troy ($24), BYU ($45) and Hawai'i ($40). The South Carolina ticket price also include entry to a pregame receptions (details TBA). UMass' road game tickets must be purchased at least 30 days prior to the desired game(s).
