Men's Lacrosse Announces 2017 Schedule

Minutemen host six games at Garber Field
AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse and head coach Greg Cannella announced the 2017 team schedule on Monday afternoon. The Minutemen host six games at Garber Field, including the season-opener against Army on Sat., Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. UMass also challenges UMass Lowell (Tues., March 14), Brown (Sat., March 25), Delaware (Sat., April 1), Fairfield (Sat., April 15) and Drexel (Fri., April 28) on-campus.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Minutemen open at home against Army on Sat., Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. It's an annual meeting entering its seventh consecutive chapter. UMass holds a 4-2 advantage in those last six battles.
UMass plays four consecutive road games during non-conference action, including contests at Ohio State, Harvard, Yale and Albany spanning three weeks of the season.
The Maroon and White will face UMass Lowell in the first-ever meeting between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts schools. The River Hawks are in their third campaign as a Division I program. After they went 1-13 in its inaugural season, UMass Lowell improved to 4-12 in 2016.
Massachusetts closes its non-conference slate against Brown on Sat., March 25 at Garber Field at Noon. The Bears went 16-3 overall in 2016 and reached the NCAA Final Four.
Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play begins at home against Delaware on Sat., April 1. The Minutemen will also host league foes Fairfield (April 15) and Drexel (April 28). The game versus the Dragons will be Senior Night, with the opening faceoff set for 6 p.m. UMass travels to Towson (April 8) and Hofstra (April 22) for road CAA action.
NON-CONFERENCE OPPOSITION
