Minutemen contribute to Thanksgiving donations with 85 turkeys, hundreds of pounds of food
AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse program raised thousands of dollars in donations for the Amherst Survival Center and worked with the Big Y supermarket chain to provide 85 Thanksgiving turkeys and hundreds of pounds of packaged side dishes for the local Western Massachusetts community. UMass Sports Network documented the day of donation, from the team's arrival at Big Y to its delivery of all purchased goods to the Amherst Survival Center.
Interested persons can become directly involved in assisting the Amherst Survival Center and its mission to support residents of Franklin and Hampshire counties with a wide variety of programs designed to help people meet their basic needs. Ways to donate, volunteer and advocate for the Amherst Survival Center are available on the organization's official website.
