WESTFIELD, Mass. - After the Minutewomen ran to their strengths in their most competitive race of the year last week in the Paul Short Invitational Coach LaFreniere had her squad working on quicker starts and quicker miles this week in prep for the New England Championships.

The Minutewomen have had three different runners claim the top spot in each of their three meets. Sarah Barrett finished first for UMass last week with Rachel Hilliard and Carly Zinner not far behind. This week look for Hilliard to lead the pack with only nine of the team's runners competing on Sunday.

The meet will be another good stepping stone in preparation towards the A-10 Championships for this young UMass squad. The majority of the team competing this weekend will be sophomores with Molly McMahon being the only freshman making the trip.
