2014 Women's Cross Country Schedule Unveiled

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass women's cross country schedule, which will kick off with the squad's annual home meet, the Minuteman Invitational on Sept. 13, was officially announced on Wednesday.

Thirteen days following the season opener, the Minutewomen will be back on the course at the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday, Sept. 26, in Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. UMass will be joined at the meet by some of the finest competition from around the country as the Minutewomen are scheduled to be running against Boston College, Connecticut, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, Hartford, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Michigan, New Hampshire, Providence, Rhode Island, Syracuse and William & Mary.

Then on Oct. 4, the Minutewomen will make their annual trip to the prestigious Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University before opening the championship portion of their schedule on Oct. 11 with the New England Championship at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.

In a warm up for A-10's, UMass will make a trip to New Britain, Conn., on Friday, Oct. 24 for the 3K CCSU Mini-Meet. The following Saturday, Nov. 1, the Minutewomen will make their furthest trek of the season when the squad heads to Pittsburgh, Pa., for the Atlantic 10 Championship at Schenley Park.

Two weeks later, UMass will look to qualify for Nationals at the NCAA Regional Championship, which is set for Nov. 14 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y.
