Antoinette (O'Carroll) Otrando begins her fourth season as an assistant coach for the University of Massachusetts men's and women's track and field programs. She is responsible for the hurdles and sprints events, multi-events, as well as jumps.
Prior to coming to Massachusetts, Otrando served as an assistant at the University of Cincinnati from 1999-2001. She also coached at the University of Buffalo from 1997-1999, where she coached the school's first All-American in 1998. She has also served as an assistant at Smith College, Rutgers University and the U.S. Naval Academy.
A 1987 graduate of Penn State University, she was one of the top conference finishers in the heptathlon and pentathlon. Otrando was also an NCAA qualifier in the high jump as a senior. She received her master's degree in Movement Science (Biomechanics / Exercise Physiology) from Springfield (Mass.) College. She is USATF certified level 2 in jumps and a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist.
