Five University of Massachusetts athletic programs were recognized with NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) Public Recognition Awards, as announced recently by the organization. NCAA East Preliminaries Marks The Finale For Women's Track

The Minutewomen's two NCAA regional qualifiers participated in the NCAA East Preliminary meet in Greensboro N.C., on Saturday afternoon. Rachelle Bourque was the first to compete in the javelin while Becky Stoyle waited to vie for a spot at Nationals in the triple jump later on in the meet. Neither managed to qualify for the NCAA Championship, however the pair have each put together two of the best individual seasons in UMass history. MORE

On Monday afternoon the UMass Sports Luncheon Committee chose UMass Track and Field's Rachelle Bourque and Kelsey Crawford ad well as Women's Lacrosse's Tanner Guarino as this week's UMass Athlete of the Week. Three Gold Medals Lead To Second Place Finish At New Englands

The Minutewomen finished the weekend tied for second of 35 with 80 points in the 2013 Outdoor New England Championship on Saturday at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. The women's track and field team tied UMass Lowell and was just 11.5-points away from Rhode Island in first. MORE

Bourque Claims Second New England Championship

The Minutewomen are tied with Tufts for first place in a field of 21 with 26 points after day one of the New England Championship at Stonehill College. Julie LaFreniere's squad also reigned in their sixth gold medal of the year on Friday when Rachelle Bourque threw 150-feet 5-inches in the javelin to win her second New England Championship of her four year career.
