Stoyle To Compete At NCAA East Preliminary

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass women's track & field junior Becky Stoyle has qualified for the NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary, which will be held this week on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
Stoyle will compete in the triple jump, which will take place on Saturday, May 31, beginning at 5 p.m. The Pembroke, Mass., native who has won four consecutive Atlantic 10 and New England titles in the event, posted her qualifying mark of 41-feet, 10.5 inches, at the ECAC Championship on May 18. Stoyle, who narrowly missed the cut for the 2014 NCAA Indoor National Championship after placing in the top-30 nationally, also qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary outdoors in 2013.
Freshman Heather MacLean qualified for the meet, as well, in the 800m, but will not compete due to injury. MacLean will be back in action at the USA Junior Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, TrackTown USA, slated for July 5-6.
