AMHERST, Mass. - Massachusetts men's lacrosse redshirt-sophomore Zach Oliveri and women's track and field junior Courtney Kromko tabbed the UMass Athletes of the Week by the sports luncheon committee on Monday afternoon. The duo will be recognized for their performances on Wednesday, March 5 in the Massachusetts Room of the Mullins Center beginning at Noon.

Oliveri made 10 saves with only one goal allowed as the Minutemen defeated Brown, 15-2 on the road to improve to 4-0 on the season. It marks the fewest goals Oliveri has allowed in a game in his career.

Kromko was one of three gold medalists for the Minutewomen this weekend at the New England Championship in Boston, Mass. The junior won gold in the long jump and was the bronze medalist in the triple jump. Her 16 points combined assisted in the team's third place performance out of 36 other competitors. The bronze medal performance was the best team finish recorded in an Indoor New England Championship since 1999 when they took second place. She is the first Minutewoman to be crowned an Indoor New England Champion in the long jump in at least 20 years.

Guest speakers for the luncheon, which is open to the public, will include women's lacrosse head coach Angela McMahon as well as men's track and field head coach Ken O'Brien and senior sprinter/hurdler Nick Otis. The salad-to-dessert buffet costs attendees $13 per person while parking is free in the lot located directly West of the Mullins Center.
