KINGSTON, R.I.- Three members of the University of Massachusetts Women's Indoor Track and Field squad competed at the 10th Annual Rhode Island Pentathlon on Friday December 6.

Senior Crystal Therrien (Fairhaven, Mass.) was the top UMass finisher, scoring 3,039 points good for fourth place. Her score also set a new personal best, replacing her previous career-high points total of 2,952. Sophomore Ashley Creel (Sandwich, Mass.) placed ninth overall with 2,840 points. Rounding out the Minutewomen was senior Nastaran Shams (Swampscott, Mass.) who placed 11th with 2,724 points.

The Minutewomen will be back in action next on Saturday January 17 when they travel to Boston, Mass. to compete against Boston University at 4:00 p.m.
