Jacksonville, Fla. - Junior Becky Stoyle closed out the 2014 UMass women's track and field season on Saturday as she competed in the NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary, held on the campus of the University of North Florida. Competing in the triple jump, Stoyle placed 34th in the event out of 48 participants with a mark of 40-feet, five inches.

Reaching the meet for a second straight season, Stoyle became UMass' first back-to-back NCAA Preliminary qualifier since Lisa Wilson went to three in a row from 2008-10. During her junior campaign in 2014, Stoyle successfully defended her 2013 indoor and outdoor triple jump titles at both the Atlantic 10 and New England Championship meets. Stoyle was tabbed the 2014 Most Outstanding Field performer at the Atlantic 10 Championship indoors after also medaling in the pentathlon.

In non-championship meets in 2014, the Pembroke, Mass., native went undefeated in the triple jump, a streak that extends back to the first week of the 2013 indoor season.
