BOSTON, Mass.- The University of Massachusetts men's track team competed in the FasTrack Invitational and the women's track team competed in the Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass. on February 14.

Senior Kwesi Frimpong-Boateng (Accra, Ghana) continued his winning streak in the 55-meter dash when he posted a time of 6.35. Junior James Godinho (Sandwich, Mass.), with a time of 1:04.36, and senior John O'Neil (North Reading, Mass.), with a time of 1:04.61, placed sixth and eighth, respectively, in the 500-meter. Junior Henry Smith (Ellington, Conn.) placed eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 44' 11-1/2".

Sophomore Elisabeth Budd (Springfield, Mass.) placed fourth in the 500-meter with a clocking of 1:18.07. Sophomore Ashley Creel (Sandwich, Mass.) posted a mark of 5' 4-1/2" in the high jump, good for an eighth place finish. Senior Chante Soares placed 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 35' 5-3/4".

UMass men's and women's track and field returns to action next Saturday, February 21 at the Atlantic 10 Championships in Kingston, R.I. at 2:15 p.m.
