KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Massachusetts women's track team placed fifth out of seven teams with 49.50 points at the Mackal Field House on the campus of URI. Christina Huff (Springfield, Mass.) won the 55 meter dash while Elizabeth Budd (Springfield, Mass.) placed third in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:18.48.

UMass also got a strong showing from Shannon Jackson (Bridgewater, Mass.) who placed sixth out of 20 competitors in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:20.01. Jackson also placed fifth out of fourth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8:59.

UMass women's track returns to action next Saturday, January, 30 with the Adidas Boston Indoor Classic.
