The women's track and field team placed second of seven with 138 points at the Holy Cross Invitational and added three more New England Championship qualifiers.
The UMass Invitational marks the Minutewomen's first home meet of the season and will be televised on Wednesday, April 18 at 8:00 on CBS 3.
On April 7, UMass will make the short trip to Springfield, Mass. to compete in the AIC Invitational and open their 2012 outdoor campaign.
As a senior in 2011-2012: Outdoor Track: Competed in the shot put, javelin and hammer throw ... Posted her best marks in the shot put and javelin throw at the A-10 Tournament with a mark of 31-01.75 in the shot and a distance of 109-07 in the javelin throw (5/5, 5/6)... Had her best mark in the hammer throw when she threw for a distance of 124-05 at the Holy Cross Invitational (4/21).
As a junior in 2010-2011: Outdoor Track: Competed in the javelin throw with her best mark coming in the New England Championship Meet on May 13, 2011 with a distance of 114-04... Also competed in the hammer throw with her best mark coming on May 8, 2011 at the A-10 Championship Meet with a distance of 113-07.
As a sophomore in 2009-2010: Outdoor Track: At the UNH Pre-Conference Meet (4/24), placed fifth with a mark of 106-05 in the javelin...Also placed 17th in the hammer throw with a toss of 88-11 at the meet...Took 11th place in the javelin (99-04) at the UMass Nine-Way Meet (4/10)...Indoor Track: Did not compete.
