As a sophomore in 2012: Outdoor: Competed in the 800 meter run at the A-10 Championships (5/5) ... Placed fourth in the 4x400 meter relay at the Pre-Conference Meet (4/28) ... Finished seventh in the 400 meter hurdles at the AIC Invitational (4/7). Indoor: Placed third in the 4x400 meter relay and seventh at the GoRhody Invitational in the 60 meter hurdles (1/21). As a freshman in 2011:Outdoor: Competed in the Heptathalon at the A-10 Championship Meet and scored 3637 points...Had the best time on the team in the 100 meter hurdles (16.57)...Competed in the long jump at the A-10 Championship meet and scored a mark of 15-00.75. Indoor: As a freshman, Murphy participated in many different track as well as field events, ultimately preparing her for the Pentathlon event at the end of the season...Was the Pentathlon participant for UMass at the A-10 Championships, finishing in 13th and at the New England Championships, finishing in ninth...Ran the 55 meter hurdles with a season best time of 9.40, which came at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games...Also ran in the 60 meter hurdles with a season best time of 10.11, which came at the Giegengack Invitational...Ran on the 4x400 meter relay team at the Sparks Sorlein Invitational with a time of 4:17.02...Threw the shot put at the Sparks Sorlein Invitational with a mark of 24-04.25. Before UMass: A 2010 graduate of Bishop Stang High School where she was a four-year letterwinner under coach Jeff Tracey...As a senior, was a team captain, Outstanding Female Student Athlete, and Standard Times Leadership Award recipient...Was an EAC All-Star, MVP, Standard Times Super Team Member and Herald News All-Star as a sophomore, junior and senior...Owns a school record in the 55 meter hurdles...Also was a senior captain, 2009 MVP and 2009 EAC All-Star of the field hockey team...A member of the National Honor Society (2007-10), the President's List (2009-10) and the Honor Roll (2007-10).
