Swiszcz & Motyl 6th In Final 2013 ITA Northeast Region Rankings

AMHERST, Mass. - Leading one of the strongest components of the 2012-13 UMass women's tennis team, the doubles pair of Chantal Swiszcz and Yuliana Motyl were ranked No. 6 in the 2013 ITA Northeast Region final rankings. The pair combined for an overall record of 22-8 during the year including a 17-4 record as the No. 1 doubles team for the Minutewomen.
The pair won 10 consecutive doubles matches from Feb. 3-Mar. 9 in building the impressive season record. As a team, UMass finished the year with a 64-30 overall record in doubles play including a 48-15 mark in dual matches. Motyl and Swiszcz also won the Flight A Doubles Title at the West Point Invitational in Sept.
Swiszcz finished her senior campaign with an 11-8 overall record in singles play including a 7-3 mark in dual matches.
Motyl was 10-16 overall in singles play as a junior with an 8-11 record in dual matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Following the Atlantic 10 Championship, she earned All-Conference Second Team accolades.
UMass finished the year with a 16-6 overall record including a 5-1 mark in conference play. In the Atlantic 10 Championship, the Minutewomen reached the semifinal round after being seeded third.
The 2013 campaign marked the third consecutive season with 15-or-more wins - the first time in program history to do so.
