AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass women's tennis team announced its season awards and 2012-13 season captains last night at the team's annual culminating banquet. Jessica Podlofsky and Chanel Glasper were selected as co-MVPs by team while Julia Comas, Jocelyn Providence and Podlofsky were named next season's captains. Sonia Bokhari was given the Most Improved Player award while Julia Comas received the Coaches Award for doing the best job of exemplifying UMass Tennis both on and off the court. Lastly, the Sticker Award was given to Jocelyn Providence for her efforts of going above and beyond what is asked of UMass players off the court.

Podlofksy and Glasper were both 20 match winners for the Minutewomen this season. The captain Podlofsky posted 24 total singles wins while adding 10 from #3 doubles. Glasper broke the school record for overall wins in a season with 28, 19 of which came during dual matches. Glasper went undefeated in A-10 conference and tournament play.

In her first season at UMass as a transfer from Louisville, Bokhari posted 19 overall singles wins. The sophomore ended the year on a ten-match singles winning streak, going undefeated in the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

The junior Comas also had a stellar season for the Minutewomen, notching 21 overall singles wins to go along with a 15-8 dual match record from the #3 and #4 spots.

Jocelyn Providence had an overall dual match doubles record of 6-2 this season from various pairings and also contributed one dual match singles win in limited action.
