AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass tennis team will kick-off a five-match road swing on Friday and Saturday when the Minutewomen head to Ohio to face Xavier (7 PM) and Dayton (3 PM). The Maroon & White enter the weekend with a 9-2 overall record and are 3-0 against Atlantic 10 teams this year. The two matches this weekend are part of four remaining against A-10 teams as the Minutewomen seek one of the top seeds in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Championship.

UMass is coming off a weekend sweep of Fordham and Binghamton winning both matches by 6-1 scores. The Minutewomen are led by Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week Jessica Podlofsky who has a 10-1 record in dual matches this year and is 8-2 in doubles play with freshman Arielle Griffin. Podlofsky has won 56 career singles matches which is tied with Julia Comas for the teams active career win lead.

As a team, the Minutewomen are 45-20 in singles matches and 25-5 in doubles play. Yuliana Motyl, UMass' No. 1 singles player, and Chantal Swiszcz are a major factor in the doubles success with a 10-1 record this year.

Xavier is 7-4 overall on the year and 2-0 against Atlantic 10 teams. The Musketeers are coming off a pair of losses at Hawaii and against San Diego State in Honolulu.

Dayton is 5-11 overall and 0-2 against A-10 foes. The Flyers fell last Saturday in their only match of the week against Saint Louis (6-1).
