Nov. 8, 2009
HANOVER, N.H. - It's been a long and tough weekend for Minutewomen tennis, who lost all twelve matches against Dartmouth on Sunday. The matches were played at the final day of the Big Green Invitational hosted by Dartmouth. The Minutewomen, who played Boston University and St. John's earlier in the tournament, were suffering from some minor injuries that affected the player lineup, mainly in the lower half. At No. 3 singles Julia Comas almost pulled through with a win, winning the first set 6-4. However, she was unable to continue with the momentum, dropping the second and third set 6-3 and 6-2. Coach Dixon's goal going into the tournament, after three weeks off, was to play a lot of matches before the end of the fall season, and they did. Freshman Jocelyn Providence, making her debut in tournament play, played six very competitive matches over the course of the weekend. The Minutewomen are looking forward to a short break before gearing up for the spring season The Minutewomen will next be in action when they kick off the spring season on February 5 when they travel to Yale. Sunday's Results: Doubles: Singles: #1. Molly Scott (Dartmouth) Def. Magdalena Ploch (UM), 6-2, 6-3
