WEST POINT, N.Y. - Yuliana Motyl and Chantal Swiszcz teamed up to win the Flight A Doubles title and Chanel Glasper won the Flight D singles title as the UMass women's tennis team posted a strong overall showing at the West Point Invitational at the Malek Courts. Overall, the Minutewomen placed a pair of doubles teams in the Main Draw finals, had a runner-up in the Singles Flight B Consolation Draw, and posted a third-place finish in the Singles Flight A Main Draw.

Motyl and Swiszcz had a strong weekend of play culminating in an 8-6 win over Fordham's Sarah Ali and Bella Genkina in Sunday's Flight A doubles finale. Jocelyn Providence and Julia Comas also reached the Flight B Main Draw doubles final, but fell to Fordham's Angelika Dabu and Julie Leong, 8-3.

Swiszcz also battled teammate Chanel Glasper for the Flight D singles main draw final, but Glasper won in three sets (6-7, 6-3, 10-7).

Sonia Bokhari defeated Fairleigh Dickinson's Anna Rapoport in the Flight A Singles 3rd place match (9-8), while Providence fell in three sets to Army's Carolyn Pitman in the Singles Flight C Main Draw Final (6-3, 2-6, 10-7).

In the Flight B Consolation Final, Jessica Podlofsky fell 8-6 to Stony Brook's Becky Shtilkind.

On Friday, UMass won 3 Flight A doubles matches, 4 Flight B doubles, 2 Flight A single, 1 Flight B single, 2 Flight C single, and 3 Flight D single matches.

In Saturday's action, the Minutewomen won 1 Flight A double, 1 Flight B double, 1 Flight A single, 2 Flight C single, and 4 Flight D single matches.

In the Flight B doubles semifinals, Bokhari and Glasper fell to Fordham's Dabu and Leong, 9-7. Bokhari also reached the Flight A singles semifinals but lost to Stony Brook's Nini Lagvilava (6-1, 6-1). Providence won her quarterfinal and semifinal singles matches to advance to Sunday's title match as did Swiszcz and Glasper in the Flight D singles.

UMass will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 27 when the Minutewomen head to Providence for a 3 PM match.
