COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The first-seeded University of Massachusetts tennis team defeated No. 4 Temple with a 4-0 victory this afternoon in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament at The Tennis Center in Maryland. The Minutewomen will take on No. 2 Richmond tomorrow morning at 11:00 AM in the championship. The Spiders got by No. 3 Xavier, 4-0. UMass knocked off Richmond earlier in the season, 4-3.

In doubles play, freshman Masha Pozar (Ljublijana, Slovenia) and sophomore Michele Spiess (Stuttgart, Germany) teamed up and won at No. 2, 8-3. Senior Sasha Edelstein (Haifa, Israel) and junior Jana Bartoloni (Quincy, Mass.) took their No. 3 match, 8-4.

Pozar, Edelstein, and Iwanowicz all took their singles matches in leading the Minutewomen to victory.

The Minutewomen take on Richmond tomorrow at 11:00 AM at The Tennis Center. UMass has not won a conference title since 2001, its first title.
