#1 Tennis Defeats #9 Duquesne In A-10 Championship Action

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The top-seeded UMass women's tennis team defeated #9 seeded Duquesne by a score of 4-0 during the second round of the Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament. The Minutewomen will play tomorrow against #4 Temple for a chance to compete for the A-10 title on Sunday.
UMass took the doubles portion of the match with wins from the top two doubles slots. Yuliana Motyl and Chantal Swiszcz defeated Megan O'Sullivan and Judy Li, 8-2 from No. 1 doubles while Sonia Bokhari and Chanel Glasper notched an 8-3 victory from the second spot.
During the singles portion of the day, Julia Comas, Chanel Glasper and Chantal Swiszcz capped off the victory for UMass with straight set wins. Motyl, Bokhari and Jessica Podlofsky's respective matches were not finished since the match had already been decided.
Judy Dixon's squad will take on the #4 seeded Temple Owls in the semi-finals tomorrow, April 21 at 10:00 a.m.
