Fairleigh Dickinson Downs Tennis 4-3 Snapping Minutewomen's Win Streak

TEANECK, N.J. - The Fairleigh Dickinson tennis team narrowly edged out UMass 4-3 on Thursday afternoon at the FDU Tennis Center. The Minutewomen started the match by winning the doubles point, but the Knights won four-of-six singles matches to earn the win. The loss snapped a four-match win streak for UMass which now stands at 9-8 overall on the year.

Sonia Bokhari and Chanel Glasper led UMass with wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, respectively. The pair also teamed up to win at No. 2 doubles.

Yuliana Motyl and Anna Woosley won at No. 3 doubles giving the Minutewomen the opening point of the afternoon.

From there, the Knights were able to pull off wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 singles to earn the match win.

UMass returns to action on Friday, April 11 at Sacred Heart (1 PM). The Minutewomen will conclude the regular-season next Saturday, April 19 against Atlantic 10 rival Rhode Island at the Mullins Center Tennis Courts. The team will honor its 2014 senior class prior to the start of the match at 1 PM.
