UMass Falls to Nova Southeastern 9-0 In Women's Tennis
March 19, 2006
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team (4-4) fell to the hands of Division II Nova Southeastern (11-2) today by a score of 9-0. The Minutewomen played in their first match since defeating Providence 7-0 on February 24th. The No. 12 ranked Sharks finished a seven game stretch vs. Division I opponents, going 6-1.
The match started slowly for UMass. After falling in each doubles match, they found themselves down by three. Since it was a Division II match, each doubles match was worth one point. It went downhill from there as the Minutewomen were competitive, but were not able to win a singles match.
The Minutewomen are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Boca Raton to face Lynn at 2:00.
