DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - The University of Massachusetts (7-6) came up short today against Army (12-4) at the Delray Beach Tennis Center and lost 5-2. UMass took the doubles point while senior captain Sasha Edelstein (Haifa, Isreal) won at No. 4 singles.

Freshman Kristin DiPiero (Huntingdon Valley, Pa) and junior Susan Johnson (Arnold, Md.) teamed up at No. 2 singles to win 8-5 while Edelstein and junior Jana Bartoloni (Quincy, Mass.) won at the No. 3 slot, 8-4.

Edelstein defeated Morgestein, 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 at No. 3 singles while Johnson was edged at No. 4, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

The Minutewomen complete their Florida trip tomorrow when they play Big East foe Rutgers at 2:00 PM at the Delray Beach Tennis Center.

1. Limsiaco and Morgestein def. Masha Pozar and Michele Spiess, 9-8.

2. DiPiero and Johnson def. Noble and Segar, 8-5.

3. Edelstein and Bartoloni def. Chavez and Paluch, 8-4.
